Riverby Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2010 |
The grapes for this wine were selected from throughout our estate vineyard. A tiny portion of Semillon was added to the final blend and the wine was left on its lees to give added complexity.
Light to medium straw green in colour, this wine has an exuberant nose of apples, pineapple, melon, lime and passionfruit on a background of traditional sweaty gooseberry characters. It is pleasantly full bodied with lingering acidity and complex flavours of grapefruit, lime, gooseberry and passionfruit. This is a very juicy, almost creamy, style of wine with great mouth-feel, satisfying complexity and an impressive minerality. The finish is long and lingering and ultimately quite clear and refreshing.
Review
"Mouthfilling and gently aromatic, with ripe, tropical fruit flavours showing good depth and a dry finish."
