Ngatarawa Winery |

 |
When Alwyn Corban and Garry Glazebrook converted the stables and planted their vineyard, it was one of New Zealand's earliest boutique wineries. Ngatarawa still remains a key pioneer of grape-growing and wine-making in the Bridge Pa Triangle, on the western edge of the Heretaunga Plains in Hawke's Bay.
Ngatarawa - pronounced Naa-Taa-Ra-Wa - means 'between the ridges' in Maori. Ngatarawa is located on the ancient Ngaruroro riverbed, on the western edge of Hawke's Bay Heretaunga Plains.
Featured wines in the New Zealand Wine Centre wine tasting adventure:
NGATARAWA – Farmgate Chardonnay
A powerful, yet elegant chardonnay with remarkable complexity, this wine shows aromas of grapefruit and lemon. A balanced wine with excellent length, it is well matched with pasta, cheese and white meats.
NGATARAWA – Glazebrook Chardonnay
This Hawke’s Bay wine is a bouquet of ripe peach, melon and grapefruit, integrated with a soft oak scent. This is a classic barrel-fermented chardonnay which is full bodied and concentrated. Try with richly flavored chicken, turkey, vegetable terrines, or dishes with nut or butter sauces.
