Alan of Stonecroft holding a Glass of Red Wine

Alan over looking Stonecroft Vineyard

Stonecroft

The local area of where Stonecroft is situated was completely unknown for its viticultural potential, and within the community was regarded as a wasteland. Consequently, Stonecroft’s neighbours have included the local municipal rubbish dump, a Kart track, a drag race strip, a gravel quarry and an army firing range.

The theme at Stonecroft is intensity- of purpose as much as of flavour. The intention is always to do the best possible, from the first winter pruning to the final fining - to grow and fashion wine that has the potential to be great - wines with huge personality from a small estate.

Featured wines in the New Zealand Wine Centre wine tasting adventure:

STONECROFT – Serine Syrah
This Hawke’s Bay wine has a lovely magenta colour and a very floral scented bouquet of dark fruits. It has a lovely soft rounded palate with ripe fruit flavours reminiscent of dark cherries and plums. A medium weight with a lovely spicy lingering finish.
